Meet some of us from the Within Sight team
Jill Wootton
After completing a Social Science degree, Jill started working life in sales and marketing. Within a few years she was directing a team managing international exhibitions and conferences. After retraining Jill worked as a massage then acupuncture therapist, working extensively with people with cancer.
She went on to study hypnotherapy with Uncommon Knowledge, after seeing the beneficial effects of hypnosis in her own clients. Using hypnosis and brief therapy she built a busy practice in Cuckfield West Sussex, but was asked to join the two other directors of Uncommon Knowledge as the company’s training director.
Working with Roger Elliott and Mark Tyrrell, they created one of the most popular hypnotherapy courses in the UK. Over the past nine years Jill has trained over two and a half thousand people. She is a compassionate and effective therapist, whose extensive knowledge continues to help many people get back on track.
As a trainer, Jill makes learning fun and easy to absorb. Clear, professional and friendly. She has a unique style that has enabled hundreds of people to become therapists, and many others to make more of their lives then they thought possible.
After Uncommon Knowledge relocated to Scotland, Jill founded Within Sight and created a new professional diploma in hypnosis and psychology. Jill has taken the best of practice that succeeded over the years and added extra dimensions to strengthen the therapist and their effectiveness.
Jill has appeared on various radio and TV programmes including Chris Evans drive time show on Radio 2, Sky One's Angry Britain and the Trisha Goddard show.
Jill enjoys life! But walking in the mountains, sailing, good food and wine, spending time with family and friends would be top of her list.

Nicola Preston Bell
Nicola Preston Bell is an experienced hypnotherapist specialising in solution-focused psychotherapy. She trained at Uncommon Knowledge, the Brighton based diploma course and is now a supervisor and mentor on this internationally- recognised course.
The combination of brief solution-focused psychotherapy and hypnosis with effective NLP* techniques result in accessing the client’s inner resources to bring about life long change.
"By using the mind’s vast ability to work things out for itself we are able, often at a subconscious level to change the way we react to things forever and to create a sense of well-being to permeate our lives. Each person is unique and so each solution is unique but we all have it within ourselves to control our bodies and alter our behaviour. The options are truly in our minds."
Before turning her career to hypnotherapy, Nicola was a team leader in the local NHS speech and language therapy service. Most recently she worked with children with varying degrees of autism and learning difficulties, enabling better communicaiton skills and supporting the families. She was also part of a multidisciplinary diagnostic team for autistic spectrum disorder. She loved her work in this field and has helped many young people, teaching staff and carers to find solutions for them to understand their language difficulties or to adopt strategies to help them cope with everyday life.
Nicola has trained and worked as a facilitator of peer supervision in the NHS and has also worked in the private sector as a senior recruitment consultant for a West End search firm.
Nicola’s qualifications are a Diploma in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy and a degree in psychology and linguistics from Reading University. She takes continuing professional development seriously and regularly undergoes further training.
She lives in Sussex with her husband and two teenage sons and makes time for cooking, music, dance and photographing the fabulous Sussex countryside.

She has a passion for the mind body components of fertility and birth (especially in light of the growing body of evidence demonstrating how instrumental the pre-birth period is in shaping emotional response). She is an Uncommon Knowledge-trained Solution-focused psychotherapist, a Certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator and Fertility Therapist and an affiliate of the HypnoBirthing Institute. Lynne Somerville
Lynne Somerville trained with Uncommon Knowledge in 2006, staying on as a supervisor for the remaining years of the course. She has since enjoyed a very varied hypnotherapy private practice in Brighton and Hove and loves a challenge! She is also currently studying Neuroscience at Sussex University. Lynne is fascinated by the mind and body and the behaviours and disorders that are possible. Her hypnotherapy training has led to days working in people's homes, mental health institutions, local community training, volunteer organisations, offices, supermarkets and occassionally her therapy room. She enjoys nothing more than a client calling to let her know what they have achieved since a session. She particularly enjoys the hypnotherapy training course environment because it brings together people with a similar interest, but with very varied backgrounds, to share their opinions and experiences. She is a firm believer in the Human Givens and gets her sense of balance with friends, family, work, study, volunteering, dancing and trapeze.
